Percy started her first photo studio in London. Her friends appreciated her photojournalism style of capturing the small, raw moments of family life and encouraged her to take on commissioned work. For 20 years, she worked as a freelancer, primarily through word of mouth and fitting appointments into her limited hours. For Percy, it was never a business; it was more like a passion.
