Percy Chang is a visual artist working mainly with photography. She was born in Taipei, Taiwan, and has spent much of her adult life moving between places. Over the years, she has lived in the United States, the United Kingdom, the Middle East, and Sweden. This constant shifting between cultures, languages, and ways of living has shaped how she looks at the world and how she moves through it.

 

She studied photojournalism early on, which gave her a strong sense of timing and an instinct for quiet, unguarded moments. With time, her relationship to photography changed. Instead of working toward assignments or outcomes, she began working more slowly, returning to the same places, walking without a plan, and letting images come together on their own terms.

 

Alongside photography, she also works with paper, small sculptures, and painting. These practices are closely tied to everyday life and often emerge from the same need to notice, pause, and linger with things a little longer. She is currently based in Landskrona, in southern Sweden.
